I began my Egypt adventures in Giza, with the pyramids of Lower Egypt. But in Egypt, everything is connected... In my research at Giza, where I study and decrypt markings, I found "Little Foot", pictured below. I knew I now had to expand my Egypt repertoire to include Luxor! The Temple there mimics the body of a man. All is connected. Giza-the Great Pyramid-Luxor-Man-the Cosmos.
Yes, that little footprint above points directly to the Temple of Luxor. What adds to the mystery here (as always in Egypt!) is that the temple of Luxor had not been built when this "footprint" mark was placed on the Giza Plateau!
Also in Luxor is the Karnak Temple, the largest religious building ever constructed. It was home to priests who lived on the site and was dedicated to a trinity of gods, Amun, Mut and Khonsu. This Temple was known to ancient Egyptians as "the most esteemed of places."
These two powerful Temples at Luxor, Karnak and Luxor, are connected by several miles of streets which are lined with Sphinxes. The Egyptian government is beautifying this Avenue of the Sphinxes so that it is possible to walk from one temple to the other guarded for the several miles by the protecting Sphinxes!
